Chester, Pennsylvania (August 23, 2026) — CT United FC struck four times in the opening half and held off a second-half response from Philadelphia Union II to earn a 4-2 victory on Sunday at Kinetic Field at WSFS Bank Sportsplex Stadium in MLS NEXT Pro play.
The Coywolves wasted no time going in front. In the first minute, Bryan Destin helped create the opening opportunity for Dylan Lacy, who finished with his right foot from the center of the box to give CT United a 1-0 lead.
CT United doubled its advantage in the 13th minute. Alex Monis found Destin in the middle of the penalty area, and Destin sent a right-footed finish into the lower-right corner. Robbie Mora was credited with the secondary assist as the Coywolves made it 2-0.
The visitors continued to threaten after the early goals. Philadelphia goalkeeper Pierce Holbrook denied Destin in the 21st minute and Barnabás Tanyi one minute later before CT United created two more chances in the 25th minute through Jahvar Stephenson and Destin.
CT United then delivered another burst just before halftime. In the second minute of first-half stoppage time, Rickson van Hees and Mora combined to set up Tanyi, who finished from the center of the box to make it 3-0. One minute later, Destin struck again, finishing a move created by Tanyi and Lacy to send the Coywolves into the break with a 4-0 lead.
Philadelphia responded after halftime. Stas Korzeniowski converted a penalty in the 55th minute and added a second goal six minutes later, heading home a delivery from Matheus De Paula to cut CT United’s advantage to 4-2.
The Coywolves made a series of second-half changes as they worked to see out the match. Warren Agostoni entered for Mora in the 51st minute, Michael Boamah replaced Stephenson in the 68th, and Jamison Ping, Daniel D’Ippolito and Neo Che came on in the 70th. Cauã Paixão replaced Tanyi in the 84th minute.
Philadelphia was reduced to 10 players in the 84th minute when Kellan LeBlanc was shown a second yellow card. CT United managed the closing stages from there, limiting the hosts while continuing to create chances through Monis and D’Ippolito late in stoppage time.
The result marked CT United’s third consecutive road victory and moved the Coywolves to 43 points on the season, placing them third in the Eastern Conference standings at the final whistle.
CT United will return home on August 29 to take on New York Red Bulls II at 7 PM at the University of Bridgeport
