CT United enters Sunday's match still in the playoff hunt. The Coywolves are eighth in the Eastern Conference on 34 points, well ahead of 15th-place FC Cincinnati 2. This week’s matchup will be an important one for CT United to capitalize on.
The upcoming match will be the third and final meeting between the two clubs this season. CT United won each of the first two matchups. The Coywolves grabbed a 3-1 in their inaugural game versus Cincinnati in March before earning a 4-0 win in the June rematch.

Defender Lukas Kamrath continued to anchor the Coywolves' back line, making timely tackles and winning his aerial duels to help marshal the defense. Kamrath completed 7-of-12 accurate long balls and added 24 passes into the final third, showing his range in progressing play out of the back.
